The Pathiramanal Lake Resort is situated in the vicinity of the Pathiramanal
island which in turn is located amidst the awesome backwaters of Vembanad
Lake in Kerala. Vembanad is among the largest fresh water lakes in the
entire Asia encompassed by vast paddy fields.
The resort has a very different feel about it because of its eco friendly
design with wooden construction yet it does not compromise on the style
quotient so what you get is the best of both the worlds.
The island of Pathiramanal is significant mythologically also as it is said
that a young Brahmin dived into the lake to perform his evening rituals and
the water gave way to an island that is known as the Pathiramanal island.
The place is host to a number of rare migratory birds and it lies between
Thaneermukkom and Kummarkom. You can reach the place only by a boat.

The resort is situated in the vicinity of Pathiramanal island on the
Vembanad Lake. The lake is the largest backwater stretch in Kerala. The
island can only be accessed by boat either from Kumarakom or Muhamma.

Karumadi
It is pretty close to Ambalapuzha and is renowned for a black granite
figure of Buddha which is said to be belonging to 9 th or 10 th century.
Arthunkal Palli
This place is known for the St Andrews church that was established by
Portuguese missionaries and is located about 33 km north of Alappuzha.
Punnapra
It is a village in the vicinity of Alappuzha. The village has historical
significance as it was the scene of bitter showdown between the communists
and Travancore State Police.
Ambalappuzha
It is a Shri Krishna Temple and a pilgrim centre. Only 14 km from
Alappuzha, the temple is also well known for the offering of Palpayasam to
the God. The main festival in the temple takes place in March/ April.
