About Bolghatty Palace

The settings at the Bolghatty Palace are awesome and the mood is romantic.
It is one of the oldest Dutch palaces outside Netherlands. If you've heard a
lot about Cochin, it's probably justified as the place more than lives up to
its reputation of being the pearl of the Indian Ocean. The
Bolghatty Palace itself used to be the residence of the British Governor in
the days of British Raj. The structure of the palace has been renovated by
the Kerala Tourism Development Corporation in a terrific and successful
attempt to bring back its glory.
Location
The Bolghatty Palace is situated on an island off the coast of Cochin in
the Arabian Sea. Regular boat services operate from the High Court Jetty in
Cochin to the Bolghatty Palace.

The Santa Cruz Cathedral was originally constructed by the Portuguese in 16
th century and this church is famous for its paintings on the ceiling. It
was demolished by the British when they took over Cochin but the building
was reconstructed in 1887.

structures of Fort Kochi. It is believed that this was the residence of
Vasco Da Gama. The building has typically European glass paned windows and
verandahs.
Fooding and Lodging
Fooding
When it comes to the dining options, the palace is not found wanting as
there is a multi cuisine restaurant as well as a beer parlour. The
restaurant's menu boasts of the traditional Kerala recipes as well as tasty
Dutch delicacies.
Lodging
There are four palace suites, 16 well appointed rooms as well as six
waterfront cottages in the Bolghatty Palace. All the rooms have been
restored without destroying their very own essence. The art work looks as
new as it gets as the ambiance in this palace has been so maintained as if
nothing has changed since the time when it was built in 1744.
