Kannur is counted among one of the best
ten cities to live in India. Located on the northernmost corner of Kerala,
on the shore of Lakshadweep Sea, it was known by the name of Cannanore
during British Empire in India. It was one of the important centers of spice
trade in India in the ancient days. Kannur's pristine beaches blessed with
coconut fringed shoreline attract visitors from all over India and abroad.

Beach, Muzhapilanged Beach, Baby Beach, Meenkunnu Beach, St. Angelo Fort,

from this, there are a number of temples in Kannur, like Sundareswara
Temple, Mavilakavu Temple and Urpazhachivaku Temple.
Kannur is well connected by trains from
major cities in India. The nearest airport is Kozhikode (93 km) from where
one can catch regular flights form different cities. The city also has a
very good network of roads and KSRTC and private luxury buses ply from here
to other cities on regular intervals.
