Alappuzha is situated on the bank of Vemband Lake. Alleppey, apart from its

quality. Alleppey is also famous for its Nehru Trophy boat race held every
year. By virtue of its proximity to the sea, the town has always enjoyed a
unique place in the maritime history of Kerala.

is during winters, The month from August-September and Feb -March are ideal
for a visit to this place. The place is easily assescible as it is well
connected to Kochi both by rail and road and the nearest airport is 66 Km

Ambalapuzha
It is located at a distance of 14 km away from Alleppey. The temple is
famous throughout Kerala for 'Palpayasam', that is milk porridge of
exceptional sweetness offered to the deity.
Aruthunkal
Popularly known as St. Sebastian Church a important pilgrim centres of
Christian in Kerala, 22 km north of Alleppey.
Chettikulangara
Bhagvathy Temple
The temple draws large crowds of devotees during the Kettukazhcha festival.
Processions of tall decorated structures on chariots, brightly decorated
effigies of horses and bullocks and cultural performances make a spectacular
pageant. The Festival here starts in February/March.
Alleppey Beach
This is one of the most visited picnic spots in Alappuzha.Spectacular beach

Krishnapuram Palace

The
double storied palace is located 47 km from Alleppeyand was built in 18th
century during the reign of the Travancore monarch, Marthanda Varma.
Champakulam Church
It was established by St. Thomas in Kerala. The annual feast at this church
falls on the 3rd Sunday of October every year.
Edathua Church
Located at 24 km from Alleppey, on the Alleppey - Thiruvalla Road. This
church was established in 1810 and is dedicated to St. George Chavara
Bhavan, It is the ancestral home of the blessed Kuriakose Elias Chavara
