Thangasseri
It is a historically significant village where you can see the ruins of old Portuguese fort and churches that were built in the 18th century. The other structure worth seeing is the Thangassery lighthouse which can be seen even from the distance of 13 miles into the sea.

Rameshwara Temple
It is a sacred worshiping place where the Pandyan influence is so very clear in its designs as well as the inscriptions.

Mayyanad
It is situated about 10 km away from the Kollam town and is known for its shrines and temples. The Subramanya Temple at Umayanallor is most important of all these.
