When you enter the resort , you are welcomed in the reception that has a class of its own Illom,as it is popularly known was constructed in1860 and was reconstructed in 1993 keeping the traditional carpentry form (thachu shasthra style) in mind.

Accommodation
Though all the cottages vary in configuration and some of the air conditioned units are newly built replicas incorporating only fragments of old tharwadsthat could be saved in their entirety,Coconut lagoon offers three basic types of accommodation:

» and private pool villas The former have two stories, the upstairs bedroom gallery offering particularly magnificient view of Lake Vembanad.
The latter are morecompact, single-level cottages,. Both are furnished in aiyny and Jack woods and retain all the charm of the original family homes with thick, solid doors, intricate window carvings and terra cotta tile floors.

Coconut Lagoon's cottages feature ultramodern bathrooms, each located in an inner courtyard boasting its own banana.

Restaurant/ Bar
Known as ettukettu, the building incorporates two atrium like courtyards under an expansive tile roof supported by dozens of slim columns, a design that enables the space within to benefit from the slightest breeze.The restaurant serves authentic keralan dishes- noth veg and non veg.
