It is rightly called a heritage home because that's exactly what it is. The word “Tharavadu” is a Malyalam word which means ancestral house. Now you need not go for a synthetic Kerala feel because now you have an option to go for an original one. It is a 120 years old house in Kerala on the banks of serene Kottayam backwaters. The structure has recently been renovated and is surrounded by canals as well as lush green trees. The property itself is designed in Syrian Christian architecture. It is an old bungalow located besides a river which leads you to the Vembanad Lake.

Location
The resort is 75 km away from the Cochin International Airport whereas the Kottayam Railway Station is just 16 km away. The resort can easily be reached by buses and taxis from Kottayam and Cochin as well if you prefer to travel by road.

Sightseeing
Mahadevar Temple, Ettumanoor
This temple is famous for its mural paintings as well as for the festival known as Ezharaponnana Utsavam.

Thalikotta Temple
It is an ancient temple where the Thekkumkoor royal family used to worship.

Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary
The sanctuary is located on the banks of Vembanad Lake where you can view the exotic birds like Siberian stork, egret, darter, heron and teal.
