Situated in the Periyar wildlife sanctuary, it is about 6 hour drive away from Cochin International Airport whereas it takes about 3 and half hours to reach here from the Madurai Airport. Kottayam is the nearest railhead which is about 4 and half hours drive away by road. Kumily is the nearest bus terminal which is 4 km away.

Then you have the option of going on a boat cruise which offers you the opportunity to have a look at the wildlife safely from a boat. You can also move in the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary on an elephant back or a vehicle.
