Garden Resort
The
resort is plainly amazing as it is really tranquil experience to live in the
centre of spice plantations and the gardens. The location, service and
welcome are all wonderful, to say the least. The management and the staff
members of the hotel are very helpful and go out of their way to make your
stay a pleasant one. They advise you well if you are new to the area and
they'll also book your jungle and wildlife trip, sort out taxis and turn it
all into a great show. The resort is a great chill out zone where you don't
feel guilty being laid back and relaxed. Though the resort is a relatively
small one, the beautiful gardens make up mostly for it.
Location
The resort is about 100 km from the Munnar Hills. It is located about 200
km away from Kochi International Airport and 140 km from Madurai Airport in
a village called Murikkady, about 6 km away from Thekkady. Kottayam is the
nearest railway station which is about 100 km away. The journey that you
undertake by road will be the most enriching as you'll be able to get a feel
of the countryside as well.

Recreation
The
Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary is just
10 minutes drive away from the resort. The three hour jungle trek is a
must-do there and of course don't forget the boat ride in the Periyar Lake
where you'd be able to be face to face with the wild animals, that too
safely. Other recreational activities available here are children's
playground, fishing, boating, canoeing, trekking etc.
Sightseeing
Mangala Devi Temple
This is an ancient temple situated amidst forests and built in traditional
Kerala style. Visitors are allowed here only on one day – on Chithra
Pournima Day. It is situated 15 km away from Thekkady.
Pandikuzhi
It is a picturesque place situated between Chellarkovil and the Tamil Nadu
border. It is a popular picnic spot. It is a great destination for trekkers
as well as photographers.

Many things are grown in the gardens of the resort which is used in their
in house kitchen, specially coffee. The food is specially prepared for those
who are used to western food. The restaurant is decorated with traditional
Kerala furniture and the delicacies that'll be dished out to you are the
best Italian and Continental dishes, needless to tell you that Indian and
Kerala cuisine are also served here.
