The practice of Yoga, or unification, re-establishes the
connection between the individual and the universal field of pure
consciousness. Yoga removes the attachment to external objects and false
knowledge and corrects psychological trauma by merging the mind with the
real, the virtuous, and the wellspring of harmony. It really is true. Since
the mind plays such an important role in creating health, Yoga plays a vital
role in Ayurvedic medicine.

Yoga
and Ayurveda are as old as our tradition. Both go hand in hand for
upliftment of thyself, with the sword of understanding of thyself thou shaft
as under in thy heart every doubt arising from ignorance and thou shaft
achieve thy performance in yoga. Desires are delusions. Consciousness
follows our desires. Where your treasure is there will your heart be also.
The correlation of Ayurveda and Yoga, on the basis of fundamental level is
shown with the following features:
Authenticity of both sciences is accepted by each other. The various acts
related with daily and seasonal routine are included in the second fold of
Yoga i.e. Niyama (Ethical practices). The subject related with the food
habits are included under the first and second fold i.e. Yama and Niyama
(Ethical practices). The subject related with the non-suppression of 13
natural calls are also included in Niyama (Bahya Saucha). This purification
is previous to the performance of the actual motions. These calls are
suggestive for necessary activity and hence are included under the yogic
fold Yama (Saucha). Suppression of various mental properties such as
affection, anger etc. is included in the second fold of yogic science i.e.
Niyama. Suppressive and non-suppressive acts - such as Vyayam, Nasya etc.
are related with regulation of body, mind and speech and hence are included
in the first fold of yoga i.e. Yama especially Ahimsa, Satya, Asteya,
Brahmacharya and Aparigraha.
Sadavritta described in
Ayurveda is related with the behavior and moral conduct and hence is closely
related with Yoga science. All these acts and behaviors could be included
under the various Yogic folds especially under first and second fold. Sadavritta
is beneficial through the regulations of senses and throughout the
purification of mind, it is directly related with the yoga. 3Physiological
aspects of Rashi-Purusha i.e. 24 elements of Ayurveda are agreed in Yoga
science.
Meditation and Yoga
Meditation is not a technique but a way of life. Meditation means 'to join
together or to yoke' . It describes a state of consciousness, when the mind
is free of scattered thoughts and various patterns . The observer(one who is
doing meditation) realizes that all the activity of the mind is reduced to
one.
Many years ago meditation was considered something just not meant for
modern people, but now it has become very popular with all types of people.
Published scientific and medical evidence has proved its benefits, but it
still needs to be much understood.
Traditionally, the classical yoga texts, describe that to attain true
states of meditation one must go through several stages. After the necessary
preparation of personal and social code, physical position, breath control,
and relaxation come the more advanced stages of concentration,
contemplation, and then ultimately absorption. But that does not mean that
one must perfect any one stage before moving onto the next. The Integral
yoga approach is simultaneous application of a little of all stages
together.

Commonly today, people can mean any one of these stages when they refer to
the term meditation. Some schools only teach concentration techniques, some
relaxation, and others teach free form contemplative activities like just
sitting and awaiting absorption. Some call it meditation without giving
credence to yoga for fear of being branded 'eastern'. But yoga is not
something eastern or western as it is universal in its approach and
application.
With regular practice of a balanced series of techniques, the energy of the
body and mind can be liberated and the quality of consciousness can be
expanded. This is not a subjective claim but is now being investigated by
the scientists and being shown by an empirical fact.
Ayurveda with Meditation
Meditation gives the perfect coordination for the mind and the body. Also,
a part of the Ayurvedic treatment, Kerala practitioners once again proves
why they are considered the best. Meditation is a mind-body therapy and the
instructor devices the therapy in such a way that it can be unified and
fused into the daily life experiences.
Ayurveda, Yoga and Meditation
At the end we can formally say that all three are branches of same tree
,interlinked with one another. All three are meant for relasing extra stress
on human beings existing in commercial world of today.
